The Greater Portland Area Costumers' Guild is trying to build an event called the
Portland Costume Symposium.
It will be devoted to Costume, its uses, and its creation - in all their myriad forms.
The event will include:
- workshops, discussion groups, and lectures
- an Exhibit Hall
- a Dealers' Room
- a Dance (possibly themed)
- a Masquerade (costume competition)
We also plan to have representatives from a wide variety of re-enactment and "live" F/SF groups and costume-, textile-, and embellishment-related guilds.
While we are getting offers of volunteer help, we do need a few more folks. We have renewed planning discussions and would love to have more input and help.
